Exhibition Catalouge

For our biggest and final outcome it was needed that we created an exhibition catalouge of all of our best works and the work of others in our class. I began with thinking that I wanted something different. Something that would not be overlooked. Therefore even though it was rather difficult to create the shape and design I wanted it to be a triangular catalouge to also fit with my geometric shape design throughout. Overall after completion of the catalouge I was pleased with the design and the uniqueness of it.

3D Installation

In a group of people we deiced to create a 3D instillation that when the light was shone upon it we could see different shadows and to create beautiful pattern wherever it would be hung. The idea was an umbrella that had patterns cut out of the sections so that when the light fell through the umbrella the audience could see the uniqueness of the instillation.

Pathfinder advanced

When in Illustator we have been taught some what on how to use the Pathfinder tool to create cut outs within different shapes. We also learned how to make 3D objects and how to copy and rotate different objects around an axis. My practice of these methods can be seen below. I tried all the different methods that we were tought and put them all on one page to show them all at once.

Exhibition visits

When going on exhibition visits it is important to obtain a variety of photos and look at the building itself the lighting and the layout of the place. All of the following can be seen on all the photos that i have gathered. This can be said for the other exhibitions in this online journal post.

Library Book

When we were asked to go to the Library, I went and collect this book seen below, Delusional. Widely revered as the “artists’ gallerist,” Jonathan Levine has nourished a much needed alternative viewpoint within the New York art market within this book. I enjoyed looking through at a variety of different artists and by using the library it showed me that there was a variety of inspiration within books.

Physical collage

When we were asked to make a physical collage this was my outcome. A variety of different perspectives of the same building which would make it look very odd. I also put in one part of the building that doesn't belong just so that if the viewer knew the location they could maybe try and click on that it wasn't part of City Space. We also created another physical collage by cutting random photos out of magazines and creating unique layouts

Mundane object

To create my Mundane object I wanted to chose a very boring subject. I felt a cup of soup would be perfect for this as i wanted the challenge of something that was so boring and so everyday to become something that would actually catch someones eye. Therefore all my multiple shots can be seen above and I put them all together by using Photoshop to create something different. I feel it did work however it could be worked into further giving move angles and more perspectives.

Physical and Digital layout

This course excersize was to show that we didn’t always need the help of computers to create different layouts. As the first six show that it was actually easier to create different layouts by hand with odd images. The one seen above is my best computer layout that I created using Indesign. I feel like the physical layouts were actually more successful than some of the Digital ones.

Digital collage

After going round the campus and taking many photos of all the buildings I focused my attention of City Space. The first image you see is a physical collage that i cut out and stuck onto a piece of paper and then scanned in to the computer. The other two are digital collages which are both slightly different to one another. The first one has no changes to brightness however the second attempt I changed each part of the collage to different brightness to make them stand out from one another and make them unique.

4 Observational Drawings

After doing the life drawings within the sessions we were sent away for another independent study that was to do four observational drawings. I liked to consists most of mine with fruit. As i could use different techniques to achieve different and exciting outcomes. The apple was crated by using lead pencils to shade and a hot glue gun to create the water droplet effects. I then used ink to create the arrange of fruit. My other drawings were done with simple lead pencils and quick sketches of the items.
